West Ham United: Stuart Pearce shares David Moyes sack verdict live on talkSPORT
Stuart Pearce has warned West Ham supporters to be careful what they wish for as calls for David Moyes to lose his position at the London Stadium continue to intensify.
The former Hammers player also worked for the club as a coach under Moyes and has insisted that he saw from the inside the outstanding job the boss is doing in East London.
However, Pearce also conceded that the people who pay to turn up for games are allowed to give their opinion, with the general footballing public well-educated these days.
Speaking live on talkSPORT [21 February, 08:15], Pearce shared: “I think one thing we’ve got in this day and age is a football-watching public that knows their football. They know tactics, they know how teams are set up, they know what they want to watch.
“To be fair, it’s an entertainment business, but I think it’s important that you be careful what you wish for in football. It’s probably these five years or so that David Moyes has been at the club that’s been the most consistent for West Ham.
“Listen, everybody’s got the right to turn up and give their opinion. I think he’s done a good job, an outstanding job, and I’ve seen it from the inside.”
Pressure continues to mount on David Moyes at West Ham
Frustrations surrounding the style of play are what saw plenty of fans kick off with the boss before this run of form, although many pundits questioned those frustrations due to the club’s strong league position.
Pearce, meanwhile, admitted he could understand frustrations given that fans want to see entertaining football rather than just earning results, which has been the leading cause of issues at West Ham.

It has even been reported that some players in the dressing room at the London Stadium are unhappy with the tactical style under Moyes, adding further pressure to his job.
Moyes has earned support, particularly from one of his former coaches, and what he has achieved at the club should not be questioned, but it now looks like his reign will come to an end.
In other West Ham news, one BBC pundit suggested a decision may already have been made.
