West Ham United: Jeff Stelling and Clinton Morrison react to Tomas Soucek handball

Jeff Stelling and Clinton Morrison have reacted live on Sky Sports to West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek’s handball incident against Chelsea last week.

Morrison exclaimed “oh my word” over the handball incident, confessing that the effort was an unbelievable save from Soucek with a tongue-in-cheek comment.

Stelling then weighed in on the ordeal admitting that Soucek “got away with it” in a decision which ultimately got West Ham United a point on the day.

“Oh my word,” said Morrison live on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday. (1.33 PM, 18 February)

“It’s an unbelievable save, brilliant save from Soucek. But, credit to Soucek and they got a point for their team.”

“He got away with it,” replied Stelling.

West Ham

Not wrong.

West Ham United certainly got away with one in the fierce London derby and Soucek will be counting the lucky stars that he didn’t lose his team any points.

At the end of the season when all is said and done, it’s decisions like these that can make or break a club’s campaign and this could be the case for the Hammers.

The Hammers will be massively pleased with the outcome of this one and yet again the frailties of VAR and referring in England have been highlighted.

In all honesty, West Ham United deserved to grab a point on the day against Chelsea in a fairly evenly contested matchup at the London Stadium.

A trip across London to Spurs faces West Ham United this weekend, then matchups against Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Aston Villa await David Moyes and co.

Hopefully, the club’s league position will be looking a lot brighter after all these games have played out.
