West Ham United star Michail Antonio ruled out after Rush Green incident
West Ham star Michail Antonio has suffered another injury setback after a slip in training, and will now miss the rest of January according to the Telegraph.
The newspaper reported via their website on 6 January that the striker will now be kept out for a further two to three weeks as he neared a return from almost two months on the sidelines.
Another setback for Antonio has made it even more apparent that David Moyes will have to enter the transfer market in search of a new striker while the January window is open.
Yet another setback
Two to three weeks added to the two months Antonio has already missed will come as a bitter blow to West Ham, especially during a month where they will also miss Mohammed Kudus, who has travelled to the African Cup of Nations with the Ghana squad.
Kudus’ absence would have opened the path for the Jamaican to return to first-team action, with Jarrod Bowen moving back into his more natural right-sided position rather than the experimental striker role Moyes has tried in recent weeks.
With the transfer window open, and a striker reportedly top of the Hammers’ list of priorities, this new blow will only make their chances of landing a new forward in the window stronger, with their need for reinforcements clear.

Antonio had scored just two goals in 12 Premier League appearances so far this season, while Danny Ings has failed to find the back of the net in the league, making a goalscorer the main focus of the transfer window for the transfer team at the London Stadium.
