West Ham star man launches attack on teammates, claims they can’t ‘rely’ on him
West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble has launched an attack on his teammates after they crashed out of the FA Cup in the 1-0 defeat against West Brom.
The Hammers were knocked out by the Championship side at the London Stadium, despite Slaven Bilic making twice as many changes for his return to the capital.
Noble was brought on at half-time in the defeat and has claimed that his teammates can’t be relying on him to get them out of trouble in games.
The 33-year-old admitted that David Moyes placed him on the bench to save his legs for the Premier League, but that rest was short-lived – coming on for the second half.
“I’m 33 in May. I’ve been doing this for 15/16 years of my life. It’s half my life,” he told talkSPORT.
“At a club at this level with the money we’ve spent, you can’t rely on me. You can’t rely on me to come on at half-time during an FA Cup game – that shouldn’t be like that.
“The manager knew I had played three games in a week, and we’ve got two big games at home. I spoke to him yesterday and he said he would be putting me on the bench today to save my legs.”
West Ham clearly have a problem in the middle of the park. Carlos Sanchez started the game on Saturday, but he has proved that he is nowhere near good enough to consistently perform for the Irons.
Fans once again slammed the Colombian against West Brom. He was dragged off at the break and reiterated the need for Moyes to strengthen his midfield options.
Sanchez has missed 34 competitive games of action since 2018 through injury, and the 33-year-old has more than proved he is no longer a viable option for the Hammers.
