West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta ‘very keen’ on Manchester City move – Sky Sports

West Ham star Lucas Paqueta is “very keen” on a move to Premier League champions Manchester City, according to Sky Sports.

The publication reported on its website on Thursday (10 August) that the Manchester outfit are prepared to pay £60million for the Brazilian.

Pep Guardiola’s side have not, however, made a formal bid for the 25-year-old Hammers midfielder, Sky Sports added.

Massive loss

Of course nothing concrete has happened yet in Paqueta’s potential move to Manchester City, but it does look likely that the move will happen in the coming weeks.

If the Brazilian does leave the London Stadium, it would be a massive blow for the Hammers, who are only really recovering from losing star man and club captain Declan Rice to Arsenal.

Paqueta took plenty of time to settle into life in East London following his move from Lyon last summer, but when he did finally settle, the Brazil international really came alive.

The 25-year-old played a key role as the Hammers secured their Premier League safety and lifted the Europa Conference League trophy, with the midfielder finishing the season with five goals and seven assists in all competitions.

He will definitely want to improve upon those figures next season, but now it seems that the opportunity to do so may not come in the claret and blue of West Ham.

In other West Ham news, former player Rice has reacted to Gianluca Scamacca’s exit from the London Stadium.
