West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen shocked by Harry Kane ‘scandal’ in training
Jarrod Bowen has named England teammate Harry Kane as the player who most shocked the West Ham winger when he first played with him.
The Irons man told Sky Sports on 27 October that the former Tottenham striker’s finishing in training for the Three Lions was a “scandal” even despite already being aware of his quality from coming up against him as an opponent.
Kane left the Premier League for Bayern Munich this summer after scoring 213 top flight goals, while Bowen has now gained five England caps as a teammate of the international side’s captain since last year.
Bowen said when asked who shocked him the most: “I think when I went to England, Harry Kane. Obviously I know how good he is but the quality and the attention to detail.
“We’d done a finishing session and I genuinely think he scored every goal with his left and right foot. When you play against someone you know what they’re good at but sometimes in games it can be different.
“When it’s in training you see it there in the flesh, and just especially his finishing, it was a scandal… Just [stanchion], every one, so easy.
“And there’s me, keeper saving them, while he’s going top corner.”
Netted
Nobody can deny Kane’s scoring ability and West Ham supporters will be glad he is no longer a threat to the Irons having left for Germany, even if Spurs are doing fine without him currently.
Bowen himself remains the Hammers’ primary goal threat off the wing, with regular starter at striker Michail Antonio’s form having tailed off after a fast start.
While Bowen wouldn’t expected to match the numbers set by Kane during his time in the Premier League the former Hull City man is doing just about all he can for David Moyes’ side currently.

Six goals in nine top flight appearances this term has matched his output from last term and put him half way to his best return on 12 in the Premier League from two seasons ago.
With the Irons’ form becoming more patchy Bowen could certainly use some more assistance in finding the net, with fans calling to see more of summer signing Mohammed Kudus.
And after failing to land a specialist striker in the transfer window the position is sure to be an area of primary focus in the January transfer window this winter.
In other West Ham news, Moyes has been tipped to lose his job at the London Stadium not long after a rival.
