West Ham United ‘stand alone’ £50m Kalvin Phillips transfer not ruled out
West Ham United making a “stand-alone” move for Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips cannot be “ruled out”, according to Claret and Hugh.
Speaking to West Ham Zone, former Irons striker Frank McAvennie believes the Hammers should make a £50million bid for the former Leeds United midfielder.
Claret and Hugh now report on 27 June that a straight transfer for Phillips cannot be ruled out after City advanced their pursuit of Declan Rice.

Needed
Someone like Phillips would be the ideal replacement for Rice if and when he does depart.
The 27-year-old was mightily impressive at Leeds United but has been confined to the bench under Pep Guardiola at The Etihad.
He could be eager to get more minutes under his belt and moving to the London Stadium makes a lot of sense. It would seem like the perfect fit.
However, the player’s desires need to be considered. If he isn’t willing to give up on his Manchester City career then moving to West Ham doesn’t seem like the best move.

David Moyes needs players who are going to be invested in the club’s best interests moving forward. With Rice likely to be on his way, it’s essential for the board to sign at least two midfielders.
They aren’t going to be able to replace their talismanic captain, but adding two or three quality additions could see the Hammers become a more rounded side as a result.
The sooner the saga comes to an end the better for everyone concerned.
