West Ham United: Stan Collymore reacts to massive Manchester City Declan Rice update
Stan Collymore believes it’s a “no-brainer” for Declan Rice to leave West Ham United and move to Manchester City.
According to Claret and Hugh on Saturday 13 May, City are set to table a £70million plus Kalvin Phillips bid for the 24-year-old England star.
Writing in his latest column for the Sunday People, Collymore feels moving to The Etihad would bring “massive” success for Rice.

“So, if City do have a serious interest in the West Ham and England midfielder and he is serious about where he thinks he can go in his career, then it’s a no-brainer,” wrote Collymore (The Sunday People, pg 54, 14 May).
“If that is the route he takes, then he wouldn’t be the first to head north and enjoy massive success.”
Best route
Moving to the Etihad would be a wise decision by Rice. He’s guaranteed to reach his full potential and win trophies. £70million plus Kalvin Phillips doesn’t look like the worst move. The former Leeds man is by no means a bad player and could get his career back on track at the London Stadium.
West Ham fans won’t begrudge Rice moving on. He needs to be playing Champions League football and is at a vital point in his career. He’s been superb in the latter stages of the season and will be hoping to finish the campaign with a piece of silverware.

It’s the least he deserves and it would be a fitting way for the West Ham skipper to end his time at the London Stadium.
With Premier League football all but secured, the focus is now solely on Europe and the second leg against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday. The Hammers should have too much for the Eredivisie side. But, as we know, anything can happen in knockout football.
