West Ham United source shares Julen Lopetegui update after recent news

Julen Lopetegui being unhappy that some of his summer signings aren’t playing his style of football has been denied, West Ham Football has said.

Lopetegui was involved in choosing some reinforcements in the recent transfer window, while Tim Steidten and the Irons’ board also helped.

Sources shared with the news outlet, via his X account [10 November] that reports of the Spanish manager’s disappointment are wide of the mark.

West Ham United players not performing under Julen Lopetegui

West Ham made some decent additions to their squad this summer, including Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Max Kilman, Jean-Clair Todibo, Guido Rodriguez, Crycensio Summerville, and Niclas Fullkrug.

This built on the previous success of previous signings such as Lucas Paqueta, Mohammed Kudus and Edson Alvarez, who stuck around.

Not only has Lopetegui been unable to integrate new players into the team, but top performers from last season have also failed to make an impact under the former Wolves head coach.

It’s no surprise to see that Lopetegui is now under pressure at the Irons, with his future at the club being questioned by many.

Considering the quality of players the Spaniard has at his disposal, it must be disheartening for the London Stadium faithful to see their team lingering around the relegation zone.

Lopetegui has been given enough time to turn things around at West Ham, but the 0-0 draw against Everton on 9 November showed that he’s not the right man for the job.
