West Ham United ‘seriously’ looking at other options amid £20m James Ward-Prowse update – Sky Sports
West Ham are “seriously” looking at other options after seeing a £20million bid for Southampton ace James Ward-Prowse rejected earlier this month, according to Sky Sports.
The publication reported on its website on Monday (31 July) that the Hammers are set to return with an improved offer, but that they are now considering other players.
Sky Sports added that talks have been held with Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria, but there is no agreement on a fee for the player.

“West Ham United are expected to go back in with an improved offer for Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse,” according to Sky Sports. “They had a bid worth £20m rejected earlier this month.
“West Ham are still in the market for a number of other midfielders. Talks have been held throughout the window with Juventus over Denis Zakaria.
“However, there is no agreement on a fee and West Ham are looking seriously at other options.”

Time running out
Time is rapidly running out for West Ham manager David Moyes and his staff to find a midfield replacement for Declan Rice.
The club captain and star player left for Premier League rivals Arsenal earlier this summer in a mammoth £105million deal.
His former club, therefore, have plenty of funds to help bring in a new midfielder, but so far their attempts at this have been unsuccessful.
There is still time for the Hammers to get a replacement sorted, but the player really won’t have much time at all to settle into life in England, with the new Premier League season getting underway for the club against Bournemouth on 12 August.
Perhaps everything is going to plan behind the scenes at the London Stadium, but Hammers fans will undoubtedly be starting to get worried at their club’s lack of activity in the summer transfer window – at least in terms of new signings.
In other West Ham news, a pundit has questioned the club’s move for one Premier League player as a Moyes sack verdict is shared.
