West Ham United sack decision on David Moyes after David Sullivan talks brings transfer change
West Ham United will be looking to buy players with Premier League experience this summer following talks between David Moyes and David Sullivan on Friday, according to the Daily Mail.
West Ham ended their 43-year wait for a major trophy with a memorable 2-1 win over Fiorentina at the Fortuna Arena in Prague [7 June], lifting their first major honour since 1980.
And the European win may have saved Moyes’ West Ham job after Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth revealed on Saturday morning [10 June] that the Scottish manager was expected to stay at the London Stadium after a decision was made by Sullivan on Moyes’ future.

And according to the Daily Mail journalist Mike Keegan, writing in his Sports Agenda column [12 June, page 54] the Hammers are looking for a change of transfer strategy to redeem the mistakes of the past.
West Ham United are also expected to appoint a sporting director to aid Moyes’ quest to strengthen the squad.
Correct decision
Considering last season’s debacle in the Premier League, following the signings of Gianluca Scamacca, Lucas Paqueta, Flynn Downes and Thilo Kehrer from clubs outside the English top-flight, it seems as though the Hammers have learned their lesson.
And the approach to buying players with experience in the Premier League is the correct decision as West Ham United look to reclaim their position higher in the table next season.

West Ham United are resigned to losing a significant number of their key stars this summer, not least club captain Declan Rice who is attracting plenty of interest from Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Manchester United as he goes in search of Champions League football next season.
Given the potential windfall they’re about to receive for Rice’s services this summer, it is indeed set to be an intriguing and busy summer at the London Stadium and it is easy to see why they are being linked with such telling names like Fulham’s Joao Palhinha, Southampton’s Jame Ward-Prowse or Ajax’s Edson Alvarez to replace Rice.
West Ham United should only sign players abroad they have done their due diligence on, players they are confident can immediately come into the team and make a real impact. That should be the thought on Moyes’ and the new sporting director’s agenda in what is a huge summer ahead for the Irons.
