West Ham United reach contract agreement with Luizao with medical due in coming days

West Ham have reportedly reached an agreement with Sao Paulo as they are set to sign Luizao on a free transfer in January.

According to Brazilian media outlet UOL [5 December], the 20-year-old will pen a three-and-a-half-year deal at the London Stadium with the option of an extension of two years.

The 20-year-old is now due for his medical in the coming days before he will join forces with David Moyes.

Get it done soon

West Ham look to have started their January activity well in advance and it’s good to see them being proactive for a change.

Kurt Zouma’s injury certainly fast-tracked their plans to sign a new centre-back and they have completed 95 per cent of the deal.

The move is subject to a work permit as he does not have enough international appearances but we think that should be done.

The Hammers could show he’s a first-team player and give him a salary that matches the criteria in order to get this deal approved.

While he is being signed for the first team on paper, it’s understood that’s only for administrative purposes as David Moyes is unlikely to give him his senior debut so soon.

That said, if the injury crisis continues to worsen, we could see the Brazilian in the senior picture sooner rather than later.
