West Ham United: Paolo Di Canio shares David Moyes verdict in new Irons admission

West Ham great Paolo Di Canio has admitted he would like to be involved with the Hammers again having spent time with David Moyes, according to West Ham Football.

Sean Whetstone reported via his X account on Saturday (10 March) that the Italian revealed in an event for Irons supporters that he had recently spent 90 minutes with the Scotsman at the Irons training ground.

While the two are very different characters, Di Canio believes that he and Moyes share similar footballing philosophies and suggested that he would be keen to make a return to the London Stadium in an off-the-field role.

In a video posted on X (10 March), he said: “It’s obvious that West Ham would be the perfect club for me, for me it’s the only club I would choose in the middle of a thousand. But if it’s not possible at West Ham, maybe I would go in a different way and work my way and maybe one day to West Ham.”

Will David Moyes be under any pressure for the sack at West Ham United?

There are more than a few supporters who would like to see Moyes sacked at the London Stadium following the Hammers’ recent poor displays, but there are very few who would pick Di Canio to be the man to replace him.

The Italian was an incredibly popular figure during his playing days at the Boleyn Ground but has done very little in his managerial career to suggest that he would be the right sort of replacement for Moyes in the dugout.

Moyes has insisted that he has been offered a new deal in East London to extend his tenure beyond the end of the season and recent developments would suggest that the 60-year-old is edging closer to signing on the dotted line.

Maybe Di Canio will have to make his Irons return in a different capacity for the time being. He may be popular among supporters, but that feeling would quickly change if he was in charge come the start of next season.
