West Ham United: Lucas Paqueta to be joker in pack for Brazil at World Cup
West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta could be the Brazil national team’s wildcard at the FIFA World Cup, according to journalist Tim Vickery.
The five-time World Cup winners are arguably the favourites to take home the coveted prize from Qatar and kick off their campaign on 24 November 2022.
Vickery confessed that Paqueta is the “joker” in the pack because of his versatility to play in multiple formations for the Brazil national team.
“Lucas Paquetá is like the joker in their pack, they’ve got three different formations, and it all hangs on his versatility,” said Vickery as quoted by GIVEMESPORT.
“In those three formations, he plays three different roles, and he can play a fourth if he wants him to. But that’s one way he plays as the second man in midfield, alongside Casemiro.
“That would be a risk because there’s always the possibility of him losing the ball close to the goal.

“But that’s a decision that the Brazil coaching staff will have to take.”
Can’t wait.
Paqueta could be in line for a breakout showing on the grandest stage in football playing for one of the most exciting teams in the tournament.
At the end of the day, this is great news for West Ham United and shows the players the club are capable of attracting at the moment.
Hopefully, a solid tournament for Paqueta will bring him back to London raring and ready to go, the Hammers need him to be at his very best.
The midfield maestro has shown glimpses of his talent but has unfortunately been plagued by injuries and the need to fully settle into the harsh English top flight.
There’s a chance that Paqueta may not feature as much as the Irons faithful would like at the World Cup, due to the fierce competition in the Brazilian national team.
Nevertheless, as Vickery highlighted, he’s one of their only midfielders who is comfortable playing in various playing styles, this has to go in his favour.
