West Ham United: Pablo Fornals sends message as another London Stadium exit confirmed on Friday
West Ham United midfielder Pablo Fornals sent a message to Conor Coventry after his confirmed exit from the London Stadium.
The Hammers announced on their official website (12 January) that Coventry has left the club to join League One outfit Charlton Athletic after his contract was set to expire in East London the end of the season.
The 23-year-old West Ham academy graduate has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the League One club and is the second exit at the club after Thilo Kehrer’s move to Monaco.

Coventry took to his Instagram account (12 January) to send a heartfelt message to the Hammers fans.
He wrote: “Thank you to everyone involved at West Ham for all the help and support over all these years. I’ll always be proud to have played for my local team and will cherish the memories made and people met along the way at this special club.”
Fornals sent a response to the midfielder, writing: “You deserve all the good things that happen in your life, always with you brother, one forever.”
Much-needed move
Charlton are looking to revamp their midfield with a couple of young loanees, and Coventry emerged as a viable option for the Addicks this month.
The FA Cup offered Moyes the perfect opportunity to gage Coventry’s ability, drawing 1-1 with Bristol City in the Third Round on Sunday 7 January. However, the midfielder wasn’t used at all meaning he was already gearing up for an exit.

Charlton were always his favoured option as he wished to stay in London and it certainly seems a very reasonable and sensible next step for Coventry as he looks to rediscover his best football again.
The Hammers academy grad is a very talented performer and one who deserves much-needed game time elsewhere so a regular spot and influence in East London could do his stunted development the world of good.
Fornals’ message to the player is certainly heartfelt especially given his own limited minutes at the club this season and it may not be long before we see the Spaniard follow Coventry out of the London Stadium door.
