West Ham United offer social media welcome as Lucas Paqueta is back with the squad
West Ham United have shown off the return of Lucas Paqueta to Julen Lopetegui’s squad on social media.
The club posted on their official X account [31 July] to welcome back Paqueta and exhibit their playmaker to supporters online.
The Brazilian has joined up with his Hammers teammates in Florida for the club’s Stateside pre-season camp, following some time off after his Copa America exploits with Dorival Junior’s national team.
Paqueta reunites with West Ham teammates
Paqueta is now raring to go for pre-season with his teammates, although the ongoing FA investigation into alleged betting breaches casts a shadow of uncertainty over his future.
The 26-year-old was the subject of a £13m bid from former club Flamengo which was swiftly rejected [Globo, 17 July], with any deal potentially causing an issue with the FA due to the details regarding his situation.
The four alleged breaches Paqueta has been charged with have consistently been strongly denied by the Brazilian.
He was also linked with a lucrative move to Manchester City [Santi Aouna, 19 May] and was a prime target for Pep Guardiola, but for a potential variety of reasons a move to the champions has not materialised.
Paqueta’s contract at the London Stadium runs until 2027, with a club option for an extra year.
