West Ham United offer contract to Julen Lopetegui with multi-million deal

West Ham United have offered Julen Lopetegui a two-year contract at the London Stadium, according to Tutto Mercato Web.

The Italian outlet has reported on its website (29 April) that the deal includes a £4.2million option, with big wages seemingly on offer.

Despite that offer, Lopetegui was one step away from becoming the new AC Milan manager, only for talks to almost halt due to the reaction of their fans.

West Ham United to appoint Julen Lopetegui?

This has already become somewhat of a saga in only one week.

David Moyes now looks certain to be moving on from the London Stadium at the end of this season, with talks well underway for his possible replacement.

West Ham looked to have walked away from Lopetegui after AC Milan came in for his services, but they have now revived that interest after that looks to have collapsed.

The Irons are said to be refusing to walk away now and after nearly missing out once on the Spaniard, it looks as though they may go all in to get their man.

With only three games to go until the season ends, the curtain seems to be coming down on Moyes’ tenure fairly quickly at the London Stadium.

Despite bringing back the good times to the club, he never had the fans on board 100 per cent and Lopetegui looks to be the next man with that task.

In other West Ham news, an early transfer approach has been made to sign a new winger.
