West Ham United now hopeful of Jesse Lingard transfer with offer on table - Sky Sports
West Ham United believe they have made a good offer for Jesse Lingard and are now hopeful of sealing his signature, according to Sky Sports.
The England international will officially become a free agent today [July 1] as his contract expires at Manchester United following many years at Old Trafford.
A decision is close now, with Lingard now having no wage coming in until he makes the next step in his career, with David Moyes stepping up his efforts at the London Stadium.
Writing in their live transfer blog on Thursday [30 June, 16:25], Sky Sports shared the latest on a potential deal with everybody appearing to be in limbo.
“West Ham United are still waiting on a decision from Jesse Lingard,” they wrote.
“The Hammers feel they have made a good offer and remain hopeful he will sign following his release from Manchester United.

“Lingard scored nine Premier League goals in 16 starts for West Ham in a loan spell in the second half of the 2020/21 season.
“The forward officially becomes a free agent tomorrow [today] when his United contract expires.”
Saga ending.
West Ham United are hopefully closing in.
You are only hopeful if you have heard something from the player or his camp to give you that impression, and Moyes will know everyone involved very well given his time in charge of Lingard.
It was even reported by The Guardian that the Irons are ready to “Step up” the pursuit of the England international by abandoning their move for Arnaut Danjuma at Villareal.
This would be a perfect transfer for GSB and Daniel Kretinsky as they wouldn’t need to splash out a fee, just the wages, that would allow that money to go elsewhere.
Moyes is crying out for another attacking midfielder as well as a new striker, so with Armando Broja at Chelsea being our top target, this makes more money available to bring him in.
With him officially becoming a free agent today, movement is to be expected very soon.
