West Ham United now days away from new appointment as David Moyes sack decision made

West Ham United are now just days away from deciding whether to hire a new technical director at the London Stadium, according to The Telegraph.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Wednesday (14 June) that the Hammers were set to appoint former Bayer Leverkusen director Tim Steidten, but no official announcement has been made yet.

Now that the decision has been finalised to keep David Moyes as manager next season, the Hammers are ready to press forward with this appointment, which is, in turn, expected to restructure the club.

“West Ham have considered up to 20 candidates including Roma’s Tiago Pinto, Brentford’s Lee Dykes, Paul Mitchell, who is leaving Monaco, and former Bayer Leverkusen chief Tim Steidten,” The Telegraph wrote.

“The latter’s chances are placed at “50/50″ and he would appear the favourite, at present, should an appointment be made.”

Get it done

While the club continue to dawdle about whether to even appoint a new technical director, other clubs in the league are likely to be getting a jump on them in the transfer market.

If an appointment is made, it is expected to be with the large purpose of taking a more considered look at the club’s transfer activity and how they can improve it moving forwards.

Although West Ham United won the Europa Conference League, this still didn’t cloud over the disappointing Premier League campaign and the lack of impact by several of the club’s marquee signings from last summer.

The likes of Gianluca Scamacca, Thilo Kehrer, and even Lucas Paquera struggled at different points in the season, with none of the trio making the desired impact upon their transfers.

Hopefully, this appointment can help Moyes get a grip on the club’s transfer activity and help bring the right profile of player to the London Stadium.
