West Ham United not pursuing Piotr Zielinski deal – Claret and Hugh
Despite numerous contrasting reports, West Ham United are not actively pursuing a transfer for midfielder Piotr Zielinski, according to Claret and Hugh.
Calcio Mercato reported on 28 July that a new bid would be coming in from the London Stadium to try and prize the 28-year-old away from Napoli after an initial bid was turned down.
It has also been rumoured that the Irons would be willing to offer the Polish international a whopping £96,000 per week to leave Italy for England [Il Mattino].

But London Stadium insider Claret and Hugh have now been told by a top club source that Zielinski is not even on David Moyes’ radar at the moment and that there is no approach in any shape or form in progress.
That being said, the club could change their minds and try to make a transfer happen but with no irons in the fire, no announcement will be coming anytime soon.
Confusion
As is so often the case in a transfer window, it is difficult to know which stories to believe and which to question and the same can go for sources too.
Claret and Hugh are generally on the ball on all matters West Ham United so there would usually be no reason not to believe that their report is true but this feels different.

So many reports have come out from all kinds of different people and outlets that you have to assume there is something to them, after all, you don’t get smoke without fire.
Moyes and his recruitment team will obviously have a much clearer picture in front of them than what the public sees through their various media sources but it can’t be good for the club to have so much confusion on the outside.
Whatever the truth may be, the midfield is definitely an area where another player is needed despite Flynn Downes’ recent arrival.
