talkSPORT host Simon Jordan flabbergasted by David Moyes sack talk at West Ham United

Simon Jordan finds it “strange” that David Moyes is seemingly under pressure at West Ham again following the 5-0 loss at Fulham.

The Irons were on the end of an embarrassing scoreline at Craven Cottage on Sunday (10 December) as their recent good form came to an end.

West Ham had won five and drawn one of their previous six matches before the loss at Fulham, but many fans have turned on Moyes.

Asked if it is right the Scotsman is feeling the heat, Jordan said on talkSPORT [11 December, 11:06]: “It’s a bad result in isolation.

“I don’t think Moyes need worry about finding work elsewhere if that’s what he wants to do.

“David’s saved them from relegation, led them high up in the league, taken them into Europe, won a European competition.

“They’re ninth in the league. What are we talking about here? It’s one game.

“If you get beat 5-0 you’ll have an exchange of views, but look back at the past four games, 10 points, won a European game in the middle of it.

“There’s not much to see here. It was a bad day at the office.”

Jordan went on to add: “I find the narrative strange about why David comes in for this criticism.”

Memories of a lifetime

From the outside looking in, it does indeed seem strange that Moyes is having to face questions over his future.

Regardless of what happens, the 60-year-old will go down in West Ham folklore after lifting the Europa Conference League in June.

Moyes has provided stability to the club and brought continental success, but some are disillusioned with his style of play.

The club are not helping matters, either, as Moyes is out of contract in six months time and no updates have been forthcoming.

It is looking increasingly likely at this stage that the former Manchester United boss will move on at the end of the campaign.

Some will question that decision, and it may well be one that it comes back to haunt the Hammers – only time will tell.

Supporters should not turn against Moyes, though, as he provided us with memories of a lifetime last season.

With a bit of luck, United will return to form later this week and this latest sack talk can be forgotten about for another few months.

In other West Ham news, Moyes may now be without one of his go-to men against Freiburg on Thursday (14 December).
