BBC Sport pundits clear with what West Ham United should do next with David Moyes

Jermaine Beckford and Charlie Adam are in complete agreement that West Ham should stick by manager David Moyes.

Moyes’ future at London Stadium remains a hot topic of debate due to the Scotsman being out of contract at the end of the campaign.

Questions were again asked of the former Manchester United boss on the back of recent heavy losses to Fulham and Liverpool.

However, the Irons have won back-to-back Premier League games and are seventh ahead of Thursday’s (28 December) trip to Arsenal.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live [10:08pm], Adam said: “Every time there’s a bad result, people talk about his job.”

Beckford interjected: “Which they shouldn’t by the way. West Ham are seventh. Look at what he did last season.”

Rounding off the discussion, Adam said: “The job he’s done is incredible. They went with [Manuel] Pellegrini before after Moyes kept them up.

“Sometimes you have to realise what you’ve got. The grass is not always greener.”

Moyes talk dominating

Every West Ham United supporter is entitled to his or her opinion on what is best for the club.

The future of managers and players are subjective. Some may love a player; others may want them out of the club ASAP.

In the case of Moyes, he has built up enough respect for this discussion to be a civil one in that nobody is hounding him out.

Indeed, in a year in which he won a major trophy and has stabilised the club significantly, there seems little reason to look for a replacement.

As ever in the football world, though, all it takes is one or two results for the mood to change – as was the case after the Liverpool loss.

Losing to Arsenal would not shift the mood too much, but a run of losses would certainly mean fresh questions being asked.

As boring as the debate has become, it will not go away until a decision is made on Moyes’ future one way or another.

In other West Ham news, a pundit has made a “never happened before” point regarding Moyes.
