West Ham United new arrival could spell the end for Conor Coventry
Flynn Downes West Ham United arrival means Conor Coventry’s time at the Hammers will surely come to an end this summer.
West Ham confirmed the signing of Downes on a five-year deal for a fee believed to be £12million.
Coventry has spent most of his West Ham career out on loan and with the Hammers’ latest midfield addition, it surely means his time at the London Stadium is up.

The 22-year-old midfielder enjoyed an excellent loan spell at MK Dons in the second half of the 2021/22 season.
Despite impressing for Liam Manning’s side, it now seems unlikely he will be given a first-team chance under David Moyes.
With Conventry’s contract entering its final year, a move away this summer seems almost certain.
It’s a shame for the Hammers for one of their most promising young talents to not make an impact for the club.
However, Moyes is in a position where he has to focus on making the Irons regular contenders for the top six of the Premier league.

If West Ham still occupied the bottom half of the League then Coventry could well be given more chances at the London Stadium.
It is unlikely that the Hammers will recoup a big fee for the 22-year-old given his contract situation, however, it will help Moyes make room within his squad to continue his summer overhaul.
The Irons boss will be looking to add some attacking additions in the coming weeks after adding Alphonse Areola, Nayef Aguerd and Downes to his squad so far.
