West Ham United: Neil Moxley tells people to use their brains after what’s been said about David Moyes

Neil Moxley is “looking forward” to reading the heartfelt praise for David Moyes following the West Ham victory over Tottenham on Thursday (7 December).

Writing on page 53 of the Sunday People’s print edition on 10 December, the journalist questioned whether the Hammers boss should have been handed the Premier League Manager of the Month award for November, which was given to Manchester United chief Erik ten Hag.

After questions have been asked about the Scotsman’s position with the Irons, Moxley said it’s about time people started “using their brains” after he has done a “good job” at the London Stadium.

Calm head

Whether or not Moyes should have been in the mix for Manager of the Month is up for debate because West Ham did only beat Nottingham Forest and Burnley in November.

But he does deserve credit for how he’s turned things around for the Hammers over the past few weeks after going unbeaten in their past six matches in all competitions following a wretched run before that.

The Irons boss has faced plenty of scrutiny this year, but he’s always kept a calm head and managed to emerge from the situation stronger.

West Ham

While the first half against Tottenham wasn’t great, the players clearly showed in the second half that they’re still playing for the manager after turning things around to secure a 2-1 victory.

The fans are entitled to be frustrated with some of the performances, but sometimes a bit of perspective is needed because the club is in an awful lot better position now than it was three or four years ago.

In other West Ham news, a journalist has shared why a Premier League side are considering selling a Hammers-linked player.
