West Ham United move for Flynn Downes more affordable than Josh Brownhill
West Ham United’s move for Swansea midfielder Flynn Downes is reportedly more affordable than one for Burnley’s Josh Brownhill according to 90min.
It has been reported by Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth that the Hammers are closing in on a move for 23-year-old Swansea ace Downes.
However, 90min has reported that the Hammers remain interested in Brownhill, but view a move for Downes as a cheaper option.

Looking for value
This shouldn’t be viewed as a negative piece of business by David Moyes.
The Hammers have had great success recruiting from the Championship in the past and Downes is certainly a player who is on an upward trajectory in his career at present.
Brownhill on the other hand was part of a relegated side last season and is seemingly heading in the other direction.
Downes will provide Moyes with a well-rounded option in his midfield and add good competition for Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek in the West Ham engine room.

The Swansea man is at an age where he could develop whilst at the Irons and go on to be an asset for the club moving forward.
Furthermore, the Hammers won’t need to pay over the odds for Downes, which will ensure that Moyes isn’t eating into too much of his transfer kitty for this summer.
This certainly looks like a sensible piece of business by the Hammers that looks close to being finalised.
It is good to see the West Ham boss continue to be active in the market with Moyes needing to rejuvenate his squad after last season’s disappointing conclusion.
