West Ham United miss multi-million deadline to sign Serhou Guirassy, clause expires
West Ham have missed out on a €15million (£13million) deadline to complete the signature of Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy, according to Kicker.
The German publication reported on its website on Friday (11 August) that the player’s €15million release clause expired at midnight on Thursday (10 August).
The 27-year-old, who scored 14 goals in all competitions last season, has had interest from West Ham, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest, Kicker added.

“Still, the striker’s future isn’t entirely clear with the new development,” according to Kicker. “Guirassy still can change.
“However, a candidate who agrees with him would first have to appear and, on top of that, the transfer offer would have to correspond to the ideas of VfB Stuttgart.
“So far, nothing has arrived in Stuttgart from Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United and West Ham, who have previously been interested in the background.”

Roller-coaster continues
West Ham’s roller-coaster summer transfer window has continued with the latest development regarding potential new striker Guirassy and his release clause.
The East London outfit hit the headlines immediately by selling club captain and beloved figure Declan Rice to Arsenal for a huge fee of £105million.
Since then, however, things have been relatively quiet at the London Stadium, with plenty of talk about new signings but not much concrete action.
The club did finally bring in a new midfielder in the shape of Ajax ace Edson Alvarez, with a few more new faces seemingly lined up.
It remains to be seen, however, what exactly David Moyes and the powers that be at West Ham will want to do about Stuttgart striker Guirassy.
The Hammers are certainly light in that position following the exit of Gianluca Scamacca to Atalanta, with the future of fellow forward Michail Antonio currently up in the air.
