West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paqueta suffers collar bone injury

West Ham have suffered a major blow as Lucas Paqueta has picked up an injury, as per ExWHUemployee.

The reliable Hammers source wrote on his Patreon (19 October) that the midfielder has injured his collar bone, and he could be out for two weeks.

The big-money summer signing has not been included against Liverpool, and David Moyes added Pablo Fornals and Flynn Downes in midfield.

Big blow

The injury to Paqueta has come as a big blow for the club.

The Brazilian was playing well, and he was settling in nicely. It’s unknown about the extent of the injury, but Ex suggests that he could be out for two weeks.

The Hammers have some important games coming up, and it seems Moyes will have to change his plans accordingly.

Downes has done well in Europa Conference League this season, and this will be a big opportunity for him to shine in the Premier League.

In the absence of Paqueta, Moyes has packed the midfield against Liverpool, with the likes of Declan Rice, Tomas Soucek, Fornals and Downes all starting.

The Hammers have never won at Anfield since 2015.

Losing a key player like Paqueta isn’t ideal ahead of a big match, but injuries can happen to any player. The rest of the squad must step up now in his absence.
