West Ham United: Michail Antonio fires jab at ‘delusional’ Arsenal fans after Porto victory
West Ham forward Michail Antonio has hit out at “delusional” Arsenal fans after their Champions League comeback win against FC Porto on Tuesday (12 March).
The Gunners arrived at the Emirates Stadium with a one-goal deficit to overturn, which Leandro Trossard did with a fine goal after 41 minutes.
That would be the only goal of the second leg, however, as the match advanced to penalties before David Raya proved a hero for Mikel Arteta to see Arsenal beat Porto, and Antonio has been annoyed by the fans.
Speaking via the Footballer’s Football podcast on Thursday (14 March), Antonio said: “They annoy me. They’ll all come for me but they annoy me, like my family, my agent, and my friends.
“Because as soon as they are tiptoeing close to anything, they are the best team in the world. It’s actually unbelievable how delusional these people are. Some of the stuff they say is outrageous.”
Michail Antonio must stop annoying West Ham United rivals
Antonio knows exactly what he is doing, triggering Arsenal fans in order to get a reaction out of them. Having done the same to Liverpool earlier this season, he found out how it can come back to bite him.
The 31-year-old apologised recently after a “wild” suggestion that the Hammers could finish about Jurgen Klopp’s side this season, annoying a huge section of the Liverpool fanbase.
However, all fans know that Antonio will continue to cause anger to rival fans, with those exact fans taking the bait and biting back at the West Ham striker.

While the Hammers do not need to play Arsenal again this season, Mikel Arteta’s men have a chance at Champions League glory, with the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich still in the competition as their main rivals.
At the London Stadium, West Ham also have a shot at European glory, bypassing Freiburg with a 5-0 victory on Thursday 14 March. It will be interesting to see who ends the campaign with more success.
In other West Ham news, the Irons have been labelled an “utter disgrace” by a former Liverpool player.
