West Ham United: Michail Antonio drops Harry Kane claim, £100m Tottenham verdict shared

Michail Antonio has suggested Harry Kane is still worth £100million with the West Ham striker also claiming Manchester United is his most likely destination.

Kane, 29, is out of contract at Spurs in the summer of 2024 and could well be the subject of interest come the end of the 2022/23 season.

The Jamaican believes the England captain could end up at Old Trafford with the Red Devils needing to sign a striker.

“Harry’s gone. There’s only one place I think he goes and that’s Manchester United,” said Antonio (Footballer’s Football Podcast, 30 March).

“Manchester United need to bring someone in. Actually, there are two places he could go, United or Liverpool. He’s got like a year left but I am still thinking a £100million. Someone just said is Liverpool even a step up from Spurs. But you know that didn’t come from me!”

Kane’s future could well be one of the talking points of the summer window. The Tottenham striker needs to add some silverware to his resume before his career enters its latter stages and that could well mean leaving North London at the end of the season.

With Manchester United rejuvenated under Erik ten Hag, it’s a move which could materialise in the summer. As for Antonio, he could also face a hectic off-season.

The 33-year-old has been linked with a move away from West Ham and could well move on if David Moyes deems him surplus to requirements. He’s in the latter stages of his career and is at an age where he can probably earn one more big contract before he calls it a day.

However, for the time being, Antonio has a big role to play in maintaining West Ham’s Premier League status with this weekend’s fixture against Southampton another must-win affair.
