West Ham United may sack David Moyes in next 5 days
David Moyes could well be sacked as West Ham United manager in the next five days should they fail to win the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday [7 June].
After a pretty disastrous Premier League campaign, plenty of reports emerged revealing that the former Manchester United manager could lose his job following some disappointing results.
However, things had taken a dramatic turn in West Ham’s season, securing their first European final since 1976, booking a Europa Conference League final date with Fiorentina.

The Guardian revealed on 24 May that West Ham United were “increasingly likely” to keep Moyes as their manager heading into the end of the season but according to a new report [2 June] that could well possibly hinge on the outcome of Wednesday’s historic final clash.
“West Ham are giving fresh consideration to parting company with David Moyes, increasing the pressure on the manager before Wednesday’s Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina,” they wrote.
“In a sign of indecision at the club, it is understood confidence around Moyes staying has waned since the Premier League season ended.
“Sources have indicated that the Scot’s future could depend on West Ham winning a first major trophy in 43 years”.
It certainly seemed as if the West Ham United board were leaning in favour of Moyes staying on at the helm in East London, with the club already identifying long-term solutions to his squad [The Guardian, 24 May].

Whether the board’s decision becomes the West Ham faithful’s desire too is another story entirely, but after a pretty disastrous Premier League campaign, things desperately need to change at the London Stadium.
The whole season has been pretty disastrous all things considered and the only thing that may be able to buy Moyes some time right now is a final triumph on Wednesday which would certainly put the gloss over a drab campaign.
However, even if the Hammers win on Wednesday, things desperately need to change and that includes on the managerial front. Things had grown very stale during Moyes’ tenure with the former Manchester United boss sticking to his dinosaur tactics and not possessing the capabilities to change.
This West Ham United team desperately needs some reinvention, especially with the likes of Declan Rice, and Michail Antonio set to depart the London Stadium and many of the club faithful have been calling it for a long while now.

The club have been linked with some highly-attractive names in recent weeks, with Paulo Fonseca, Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter tipped to become Moyes’ replacement and given their attractive and progressive philosophies, that may well be the preferred route at the London Stadium.
Though, whatever happens on Wednesday, West Ham United will be preparing for a huge summer of change and transformation, and if Moyes isn’t careful he may well be one of the unfortunate casualties.
