West Ham United make new salary offer for Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski
West Ham are have made a new offer to sign Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski, as per Marco Giordano.
The Calciomercato journalist wrote on Twitter on 26 July that the Hammers have submitted an offer of £5m per year salary package to lure the Polish midfielder.
He reports that West Ham are “working on the psychological threshold” to attract him to London Stadium, but it will require an offer north of £32m, including bonuses, and above to prise him away.
Giordano wrote on Twitter: “In the last few hours, West Ham have raised the salary, working on the psychological threshold of about 6 million per season. To convince Napoli you need 38-40 million (including bonuses). New contacts in the next few hours.”
Difficult
It looks like the Hammers are trying to tempt the 72-times capped Polish midfielder with a better pay package.
It actually works in favour of Zielinski as Napoli are now preparing to offer him a new improved contract.
The midfielder is not keen to leave the club, but Napoli could be prepared to sell him if there’s a big offer on the table.
West Ham have done great business so far, and the club have shown great ambition in the transfer market.

They have signed three players already, with are on the verge of completing the signing of Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo.
Bolstering the midfield is a priority for David Moyes, and Zielinski would be a fantastic addition. He can bring quality and a wealth of experience to the side.
The 28-year-old joined Napoli in 2016, and has been the mainstay at the Serie A club ever since. He has made over 280 appearances for the club and has scored 40 goals in all competitions.
