West Ham United make ‘disgraceful’ behind-the-scenes decision

West Ham have been condemned by Matt Law for their latest ticketing prices ahead of the Aston Villa match on Saturday (17 August).

The Hammers announced on Monday [12 August] that, despite Clarets members being allowed a discount against Chelsea, Under-18s tickets will still cost as much as £50, with general sales seeing the prices go as high as £120 for an adult.

This came after the club had already been slammed for their prices for the Villa clash at the London Stadium, with costs ranging between £45 and £100 in the discounted window [WHUFC].

The Daily Telegraph journalist has now shared his verdict via X [13 August] on the situation ahead of the opening day of the Premier League season.

“I’m late to this but West Ham removing concessions for most parts of the ground this season and charging £50 for the cheapest kids’ ticket for the first game v Villa is disgraceful,” he wrote.

“For Villa’s first home game against Arsenal, you can still find kids’ tickets for £22.”

West Ham United continue to catch flack over ticketing prices

The decision-makers at the London Stadium continue to receive backlash over their decisions, but after the latest announcement, they are either not listening to the fans or they just don’t care.

Former players, such as Frank McAvennie, have personally aimed clear messages at Karren Brady due to the decisions, which are forcing families away from the beautiful game.

While the Hammers have experienced three brilliant seasons in Europe, lifting the Europa Conference League trophy, there seems to be the general consensus that the owners have forgotten how important the fans have also been in the journey.

The football club would be nothing without its passionate supporters, but they continue to be ostracised from the stadium by ridiculous prices, even despite the recent backlash.

The likes of Brady and David Sullivan do not have long to change their minds on the ticket prices until fans begin to turn their backs on the club they love, just due to the poor treatment on show right now.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers have tabled a £17million bid for Nathan Zeze in a new transfer update.
