West Ham United look to beat Newcastle to secure signing of Sean Moore, offer made

West Ham have made an offer to sign Cliftonville teenage sensation Sean Moore, according to Belfast Telegraph.

Cliftonville are leading the title race and they want to keep the 17-year-old winger with them for the rest of the season. Even if they accept the bid from the Hammers, they want the Northern Ireland Under 18 international to be loaned back.

Newcastle, Everton, Brighton and several Championship have registered interest in the youngster, but it’s the Hammers who have made a formal approach.

Make sense

The youngster appears to be a real talent, and West Ham should look to agree to their proposal.

In any case, he wouldn’t have featured in the first-team for the club. So, it’s better that he continue at his present club, and enjoy the rest of the season.

The Hammers are unlikely to sign any more players this window following the signing of Danny Ings who joined from Aston Villa.

West Ham

The Sun reported on 31 January that the Hammers are keen to land Kalvin Phillips on loan from Manchester City, but it was always going to be difficult.

Ideally, Moyes would have wanted to bring in more players, but he has to remain content with what he has got.

The Hammers spent heavily last summer and Moyes has a very good squad at his disposal. If he can get the best out of his players, they should be able to finish in the top half of the table.
