West Ham United 'long way' from agreeing deal for Armando Broja

West Ham are “long way” from agreeing a deal for Chelsea striker Armando Broja, as per Claret and Hugh.

Almost all major media outlets have reported that West Ham have agreed personal terms with the player and that they are close to reaching an agreement with Chelsea over a permanent transfer for Broja.

However, the reliable Hammers source reported on their website on 18 July that the Hammers are not close to signing him at the moment, although they have been in talks with the club to sign him.

David Ornstein of The Atheltic has also reported that the Hammers are close to reaching an agreement with Chelsea for the transfer of Broja.

The player has left Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the US, and he is currently flying back to London as the two clubs continue talks over his permanent transfer.

The Atheltic journalist has suggested (18 July) that although it is believed that personal terms between Broja and West Ham have already been agreed, the length of the contract is unknown.

All this indicates the point that the deal is close, but it will take some time to make it finally happen.

West Ham fans can rejoice that the club is finally set to sign a striker! The Hammers have failed to land a striker in their past three transfer windows, and they heavily relied on Michail Antonio to deliver.

Last season, it became clear that signing a striker is a top priority. The Hammers have already signed three players this summer, and Broja would become their fourth major signing of the summer, should he arrive.

However, adding a striker, especially someone who has shown tremendous promise last season, should excite the Hammers fan base.
