West Ham United: Kieron Dyer shares David Moyes sack verdict live on talkSPORT
Kieron Dyer has offered his verdict on whether or not West Ham United should look to sack David Moyes, admitting he doesn’t understand the calls for change at the London Stadium.
The Hammers currently sit ninth in the Premier League, have qualified for the knockout stages of the Europa League and have not lost any of their last five matches in all competitions under the management of the Scotsman.
Despite that impressive run, some sections of the Irons’ support are still calling for a change, with a view that a new, progressive coach would get more from the attacking talent. But Dyer believes Moyes is doing a “fantastic” job and should remain in charge.

Speaking on talkSPORT (5 December, 12:54) he said: “I don’t get it. Like you said he’s won a trophy, they obviously sold their best player in the summer, they’re doing extremely well.
“They’re not too far out of the European places, they’re still Europe. He’s doing a fantastic job.”
A fantastic job
There is always a fear in the footballing world that you don’t realise just what you have until you lose it and there is every chance that West Ham could fall into that exact problem if they allowed Moyes to depart the London Stadium at the end of the season.
The Scotsman’s current contract comes to an end at the conclusion of the campaign and currently discussions are yet to take place over extending it further. But given Moyes’ previous success and the excellent start to the season in all competitions the Hammers must surely extend his stay.

In an ideal world, the football would be a bit more exciting and get the best out of the likes of Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen, but does it truly matter how exciting performances are when the results are helping you qualify for European football and lift titles?
It has almost been forgotten due to the excellent form of James Ward-Prowse and Edson Alvarez that the Irons did lose Declan Rice this summer, a player Moyes fashioned most of his squad around. But even after losing such a crucial asset, the Hammers have remained competitive.
Moyes deserves plenty of credit for the job he’s done in East London and Dyer is right to be baffled by the suggestions he should be sacked.
