West Ham United: Journo reveals locations Tim Steidten ‘exploring’ to replace David Moyes
Tim Steidten is exploring options over who could replace David Moyes if he were to leave West Ham at the end of the season, according to Dean Jones.
Speaking to GiveMeSport on Sunday (25 February), the former Eurosport journalist said the Hammers’ technical director is going to be “integral” in picking who the next manager will be at the London Stadium as he is looking at a few coaches in the Bundesliga and a couple of options in South America.
He claims the Irons want a manager with a proven pedigree and specific coaching traits who is going to fit into the club’s vision moving forward.
“Even if it’s not going to be a huge name, perhaps like Thomas Tuchel, they want a manager with proven pedigree and specific traits, particularly in coaching, that is going to fit with the vision that they have going forward,” said Jones.
“Tim Steidten is going to be integral in picking the manager that comes in next, and he is exploring options at the moment. I know that he is looking at quite a few coaches from the Bundesliga.
“I’m also told there are a couple of options in South America as well, so it’s not as simple as just going and looking at managers that have done pretty well in the Premier League recently.”
David Moyes could be on his way out of West Ham
There has been so much speculation around the future of Moyes over the past few weeks, with many believing that he won’t be at the club beyond this season.
There was a spanner thrown into the works when the Scotsman revealed that he has been offered a new contract on Friday (23 February), but a decision is yet to be made on whether or not he will sign it.
Just because a deal is on the table, that doesn’t mean that he is definitely going to be staying as he is yet to decide on his future and it could be taken off the table if the poor recent results continue.

It’s incredibly unlikely that Moyes would be relieved of his duties before the end of the season anyway as he has a healthy relationship with the board and they are thankful for what he’s done for the club.
It does, however, make sense for Steidten to be exploring options during that time in preparation for a decision being made ahead of the summer.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have denied what anonymous sources have said about Moyes.
