West Ham United invited to USA despite recent controversy
West Ham have been invited to take part in a pre-season tournament in the U.S.A. which would see them take on Everton, Wolves and Newcastle, according to Chronicle Live.
The news outlet reported on 22 March that the three games will be played in Jackson, Connecticut and Tampa Bay in a week-long series ending on 3 August.
It is, however, said that the tournament is yet to be rubber-stamped with Everton fighting against relegation while Wolves and West Ham remain in contention for a European qualification spot.
Newcastle, meanwhile, have been surrounded by controversy, with the Magpies set to play a post-season fixture against Tottenham in Australia shortly after the Premier League season ends in May.
West Ham could play pre-season tournament in the U.S.A.
As detailed by Chronicle Live, nothing has been confirmed yet, and a previous pre-season tournament in the U.S., the Ohio Cup, was cancelled at the last minute, with the events of this Premier League season likely a determining factor this time around.
With no plans confirmed by the club as things stand, this could provide an opportunity for fans in America to see the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta, who have all caught the eye this season.
This would be the second far-flung tour in two years for the Hammers, who visited Australia on last year’s pre-season tour in the summer after winning the Europa Conference League in Prague.

The news will likely be confirmed in due course once all of the finer details are in order, but given the ongoing fights Everton, West Ham and Wolves face in the Premier League, their focus will likely remain on domestic football for now.
In other West Ham news, Frank McAvennie has told the Hammers to sign Harry Maguire.
