West Ham United interest in Feyenoord youngster Orkun Kokcu could mean departures imminent
West Ham are interested in Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kokcu – and that could mean David Moyes is gearing up for a potential departure.
The Guardian’s Fabrizio Romano via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday 21 June, that Moyes’ side along with many other clubs are exploring a move for the 21-year-old Turkish midfielder.
The midfielder has seven goals and nine assists in the 2021/22 campaign and if Moyes does pursue a move, then surely one of Said Benrahma or Nikola Vlasic will leave the club.
The Sun reported on 8 June that Moyes is happy to listen to offers for Benrhama, with the West Ham boss growing frustrated over the Algerian’s inconsistency.
Furthermore, Italian media outlet Tutto Mercato Web reported on 19 June, that Serie A Torino are close to agreeing a loan deal for Vlasic.
With news of West Ham being interested in Kokcu, it would not be a shock to see one of Vlasic or Benrahma leave the club should another midfield addition come through the doors at the London Stadium.
A move away from the Hammers makes sense for Vlasic, who has endured a torrid time in London.
However, surely Moyes would be inclined to keep Benrahma at the club?
The Algerian can be inconsistent at times, but he has produced an impressive attacking output throughout the season and clearly possess the quality to be a real threat for the Hammers.
A large portion of West Ham fans would be infuriated if the winger left the club this summer and completely understandably.
