West Ham United injury news as Kurt Zouma possible return date emerges
Kurt Zouma has a “small chance” of returning from his ankle injury to play for West Ham United before the end of the season, according to Claret and Hugh.
The centre-back picked up an ankle injury after just 19 minutes of the 4-3 defeat against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday (29 April) and was forced off for Aaron Cresswell.
The Evening Standard (30 April) shared that the Frenchman was set for a scan to find out the extent of the injury.

On the injury to Zouma, a source told Claret and Hugh: “It’s not a break, but severe ligament damage and the ankle is still badly swollen.
“With most players the season would be over, but there is a small chance he’ll be back as he has a huge desire to play and his body repairs quicker than most players.”

Fingers crossed
Every West Ham fan will be hoping for the best and praying that Zouma can return to action as soon as possible.
The French centre-back has been an important cog in David Moyes’ recent turnaround at the London Stadium, that which seen the Hammers move four points clear of the relegation zone.
Alongside Nayef Aguerd, Zouma has taken up a key leadership figure at West Ham United, and his blow over the coming games could be crucial to the outcome of the club’s season.
With West Ham still fighting on two fronts, even a return right before the end of the season could be huge.
If Moyes’ side were to progress past AZ Alkmaar in the Europa Conference League semi-final, a potential final would be scheduled for 7 June.
That would give Zouma over a month to recover from his ankle injury and hopefully give him enough time to get himself back to full fitness.
