West Ham United injury news as James Ward-Prowse expected to start v Manchester City after scare
West Ham have been handed a pleasing boost ahead of Saturday’s clash against Manchester City with James Ward-Prowse fit and ready to start, according to the Evening Standard.
According to the UK online news outlet (14 September), the England international took part in full training at Rush Green on Wednesday 13 September after being spotted on Sky Sports News footage.
6foot2editor Sean Whetstone reported on 6 September that the Hammers summer signing was set to miss the whole of last week’s training after suffering a knock on 5 September [Claret & Hugh] but it’s now been reported that he should be ready to start on Saturday against the Premier League champions.

Huge boost
It made excellent sense to give Ward-Prowse a few days to recover from his knock given the two-week international break which will have handed him all the time needed to be fully recovered and rested ahead of Saturday’s pivotal game.
There was a fair bit of concern amongst the West Ham United fanbase after it was revealed the midfielder had picked up an injury, but it appears to only be a minor issue and his England international snub now certainly can be considered a blessing in disguise.

The free-kick maestro has enjoyed a superb start to life in east London following his £30million summer move from Southampton, with goal involvements in all three of his Hammers appearances so far.
Ward-Prowse will be looking to build upon those figures when he, takes to the field against Manchester City at the London Stadium on Saturday in which his prowess from set-pieces could rather pivotal to any West Ham United success.
The Hammers have been in fine form of late, currently sitting fourth in the Premier League table on ten points after four games and there was certainly a case to argue that the international break came at the wrong time.
But, Moyes’ men have to pick themselves up again and be ready for a Manchester City side who have started the season in perfect form and now have Pepe Guardiola in the dugout again after his recovery from back surgery.
This game will certainly be a test of West Ham’s mettle and improvement over the last few weeks.
In other West Ham news, one Hammers legend tells the club to hand Moyes a new contract amid “uncertainty” around his future.
