West Ham United in pole position to sign Nikola Milenkovic

West Ham United are now in pole position to sign Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic, according to Ryan Taylor.

The Express journalist has shared the major update on Tuesday, with a move to the Premier League now expected.

Fiorentina are said to be open to an exit for the Serbian, who has also been chased by Tottenham during this window.

West Ham are said to have had a serious interest in the 23-year-old since January and could be set to seal the move.

Milenkovic has just entered the final year of his contract, meaning that the Irons could seal a cheap move this month.

That suits the Hammers perfectly.

Kurt Zouma of Chelsea is looking like a difficult deal to complete, with the fee and his wages deemed excessive.

Bargain?

Everything is pointing in the direction of Milenkovic arriving at the London Stadium before the end of August.

With the valuation said to be around £13million, that is basically half the price of Zouma, which is said to cost up to £25million.

The Serbian has captained Fiorentina and has experience to burn for his young age, with plenty of progression to come.

Moving to the Premier League is often make or break, and David Moyes will give Milenkovic the chance to shine in a back-five.

Expect this one to move quickly, with the price easily in the reach of the Irons and an openness from all parties to get it done.
