West Ham United have ‘nothing to add’ on Birmingham City takeover talks amid David Sullivan links
West Ham United have remained coy about the potential takeover of Birmingham City that David Sullivan is very close to, according to the Birmingham Mail.
Businessman Laurence Bassini is the man who is attempting to but the Blues but he is only putting £10million of his own money into the deal with Hammers owner David Sullivan thought to be funding the rest.
He has ambitions of repairing their St Andrew’s Stadium as well as building the academy back up to a category one level but he also only has intentions of staying for three years before handing the reins to someone else.

The Birmingham Mail approached West Ham United for comment but were told they had “nothing to add” after Bassini himself went on talkSPORT to dish some details on his takeover attempt.
An official FA rule states that no owner can have shares in any other club if they could feasibly come up against each other in any domestic competition but the potential for Sullivan to eventually leave the Irons and head back to Birmingham is not out of the question.
Stay away
Considering how long Sullivan has been involved in the game, you would think he’d know that Bassini is bad news having been declared bankrupt twice and failed at every club he’s been at.
But our co-owner seems adamant to be involved in this despite being the largest of the three shareholders in the Hammers.

Perhaps now is the time for Daniel Kretnsky to increase his involvement and buy Sullivan out of his slice of the pie and allow him to head to the Midlands and start again in the Championship.
We’ve already seen Kretinsky’s Czech Republic connections work wonders for us with the signings of Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal, even if Alex Kral didn’t get near those heights.
Having a foreign owner is not the worst thing in the world and we could keep David Gold around too which would help keep the club close to home for many.
In other West Ham news, we are just putting the “finishing touches” n our first summer signing of the window and he could be announced anytime from now.
