West Ham United have appointed ‘top spy’ Mick Doherty
West Ham have appointed “top spy” Mick Doherty, as reported by Alan Nixon.
Writing on his Patreon (6 November), the Sun journalist wrote that Doherty will join David Moyes to find “rising stars” and “emerging talents” at the club.
The pair have previously worked before at Everton, and Moyes didn’t hesitate to bring him to the club as he was free after leaving Celtic.

“Top spy Mick Doherty has joined David Moyes at West Ham to look for ‘emerging talent.’,” wrote Nixon.
“Doherty and Moyes have worked together before and he joins the Hammers in a post designed to find rising stars.”
Smart appointment
Doherty shares a strong working relationship with Moyes, and it helps. He will know what Moyes wants, and we can look forward to some exciting young players coming in at the club.
The pair did wonders at Goodison Park, and Moyes believes Doherty’s experience will be invaluable to the team.
Doherty was part of that Everton set up that brought through talents like Wayne Rooney. West Ham already have a top-class academy system, and this looks like a cracking appointment.

The expectations are really high at the London Stadium, and Moyes has raised the bar. Only a few seasons ago, the Hammers were fighting for survival. Now they are playing in European competitions and signing top players.
The Hammers have made a sluggish start to the season, and there are some areas that needs immediate attention. Before the World cup, the central focus will be to pick the maximum points possible, starting with a home win against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
