West Ham United Women’s expert Michelle Irons believes the Hammers do have a chance of silverware in the Continental Cup in the 2022/23 season.
Paul Konchesky’s side currently sit top of their group with five points after a 2-0 victory over Birmingham City.
Despite the competition being dominated by Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea, Irons does feel there’s a chance the Hammers could be successful.
“West Ham currently top their group in Group C which includes Brighton, Birmingham City and London City Lionesses,” she exclusively told West Ham Zone.
“Next up for the Hammers will be an away trip down to Crawley to face Brighton with a golden opportunity to cement the top spot and to bring a real sense of accomplishment for the year.

“Although a long way to go and some would say a bit of luck is needed, I will say we always have a chance for some silverware with this competition.
“Having said that this competition has been dominated by Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea over the years so maybe it’s time for another team from London to claim it.”
The competition could well be an excellent chance for Konchesky’s side to taste some success this season, with the Women’s Super League proving a tough test at the moment.
The Hammers currently sit sixth in the table nine points adrift of the top three after their latest 2-0 defeat to Liverpool.
