West Ham fear Manuel Lanzini suffer recurrence of thigh injury v Everton – report

West Ham United midfielder Manuel Lanzini could have suffered a recurrence of his thigh injury against Everton, according to Claret and Hugh.

The Argentinian international was forced off in the disappointing 1-0 defeat at the London Stadium, despite only recently returning from a similar blow.

Lanzini shined in the 2-1 win at Burnley last week and has offered David Moyes relief from major problems in midfield in the past month.

It is feared that the Hammers could be set for an injury crisis in the Premier League.

With the Brighton game coming up, Moyes could be without Mark Noble, Lanzini and Declan Rice, leaving Tomas Soucek as the only option.

Moyes was unable to put a definitive return date on Rice, who has been a massive miss in the past couple of weeks alongside the Czech superstar.

Lanzini is similar to Pablo Fornals, so that could be one possible rotation, although this is a huge blow for the South American with only three games left to play.

West Ham

One positive.

Aaron Cresswell was also sent for an injury scan after the game, but that has been reported as just a precaution for the defender.

The left-back looked to have picked up only a dead leg in the defeat and should be fine for the Brighton clash.

With Lanzini all but confirmed to be missing though, all eyes will be on the midfield.

Should Rice or Noble not return to feature, it will be a makeshift side, something that may seriously hamper our chances of a much-needed three points.
