West Ham United fans mock Declan Rice during 3-0 win v Arsenal as footage emerges

West Ham fans were filmed mocking former midfielder Declan Rice during the 3-0 win over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.

The Hammers claimed a thumping 3-0 win over the Gunners thanks to an own goal from Ben White plus strikes from Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen, meaning Rice’s homecoming ended in the worst possible way.

And fans made sure to make the most of the moment as they serenaded their former captain with a song from the stands at the London Stadium.

“You should have signed for a big club,” echoed around the stadium, as footage posted by Twitter account WestHamFootball shared (1 November).

Perfect

West Ham fans love Declan Rice and everything he did for the club during his time year, and there’s no doubting his legendary status after lifting a trophy with us before he left.

But that doesn’t mean he’s exempt from the banter from the stands and if we have the chance to have a dig at him for leaving us for a London rival then we have to take it.

Just like if Arsenal had won the game they would have no doubt come up with a song about why Rice left us, it’s just part of the game and shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

Rice is a legend and is loved, as shown by the standing ovation he got when he came on which quickly turned to boos when he actually got on the pitch, but this was a moment that we couldn’t let pass up.

We wish him all the luck in the world for his career, but when he comes up against the Hammers he’s just any other opposition player who we hope has a terrible day.
