West Ham United fans labelled ‘luddites’ by Simon Jordan over David Moyes treatment
Simon Jordan labelled the West Ham fans who want David Moyes to leave as a “bunch of luddites” in a rant on talkSPORT.
Moyes’ future at London Stadium is looking increasingly bleaker on the back of some damaging results over the past fortnight.
The Scotsman has done a great job as West Ham boss, but many want a new manager who plays a more attacking brand of football.
However, Jordan hit out at those who want to see the back of Moyes simply because of his style of play.
“There’s a lot of background noise from a bunch of luddites screaming at how badly their team plays because they would rather watch their side at the bottom of the table playing beautiful football,” Jordan said on talkSPORT [25 April, 11:26am].”
Who will replace David Moyes at West Ham?
Ruben Amorim looked like he was the favourite a couple of days ago when spotted jetting into London, but that no longer appears to be the case.
Instead, the bookies make former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui the favourite, followed by Graham Potter and Michael Carrick.
Various other names have also been mentioned, but ultimately it is not known who the club intend to bring in as Moyes’ successor.
That is assuming the club even pull the trigger, as nothing has been said publicly from David Sullivan, Karren Brady and Co.

This whole narrative of West Ham fans being spoiled, so to speak, is wide of the mark. There is nothing wrong with having confidence the club can take another step forward with a new man at the helm.
For all the “be careful for what you wish for” merchants, United fans are the ones who see the team up close week in and week out, and therefore their opinions count more than the average man on the street.
If Moyes departs, he will go with the best wishes of those supporters. The time is now right for a change.
