West Ham enquire about midfield duo, 31-year-old looking for escape – reports

West Ham United have been joined by Burnley and Rennes in the race for Galatasaray midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, according to the Daily Mail.

According to the report, the Frenchman is looking for an escape from Turkey after being banned indefinitely for a training ground incident at the club.

It is suggested that the midfielder, on-loan from Roma, could be a quality addition for any Premier League club and is keen to make a switch in the final week of the window.

It is also reported that the Hammers have enquired about Slavia Prague’s Tomas Soucek as they look to strengthen in midfield in a bid to help them avoid the relegation drop in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old is enjoying a great season in the Czech Republic, scoring eight goals and adding three assists in his 17 appearances – despite playing in holding midfield.

Soucek also holds great international experience, earning 25 caps since making his debut way back in 2016 at the age of 20.

West Ham

It is no surprise that the Hammers are in the market for a midfielder. Football Insider have reported that they are ready to sanction the exit of Carlos Sanchez this week.

The Colombian has only featured six times in the Premier League this season, and if Moyes can find a fresh option he will allow the South American before Friday’s deadlines.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein has also revealed that Sampdoria’s Ronaldo Vieira is a target, with Moyes even having considered a personal scouting trip.

Either way, the list is growing and it’s clear West Ham are trying hard to get a midfielder in this week.
