West Ham United early team news ahead of Manchester City: Key trio update – report

An injury update on West Ham trio Said Benrahma, Michail Antonio and Craig Dawson has been issued ahead of their clash with Manchester City.

All three suffered a scare against the already relegated Norwich last time out but will likely be fit to face the league leaders in Mark Noble’s last Irons game at the London Stadium, as per Claret & Hugh.

Jamaica international, Antonio, is expected to be fit for Pep Guardiola’s side’s visit to east London after suffering a knock, on Sunday [May 8].

Dawson is also expected to return after overcoming a calf injury picked up at Carrow Road.

The biggest concern after the game came for Benrahma who left the stadium on crutches. The Algeria international has a 60/40 chance of playing having been checked over by the Hammers’ doctors

Boost.

If West Ham are going to get a result against Manchester City, they need all of their best players fit and firing and that certainly includes Antonio and Dawson.

Benrahma most likely wouldn’t start against the Sky Blues but him being fit would be a huge boost as it gives David Moyes more firepower from off the bench – something that cant be taken for granted when playing against the Premier League’s elite.

The injury update isn’t only a boost for the weekend but for the clash against Brighton on the last day of the season.

The Seagulls did the Irons a massive favour by smashing Manchester United 4-0 in the last game and putting the Hammers in touching distance of the Europa League – they just have to finish the job.

Moyes’ side sits three points off the Red Devils with a game in hand on them. Their last game is away at Crystal Palace which could be very tricky for Ralf Rangnick’s side in their current form.

Which makes ending the season as strongly as possible in the hunt for another Europa League run.

In other West Ham news, Michail Antonio has been spotted mocking a Frankfurt fan in a pitch invasion confrontation after the Europa League defeat.
