West Ham United duo Edson Alvarez and Mohammed Kudus updates emerge v Aston Villa

West Ham duo Edson Alvarez and Mohammed Kudus are understood to be doubtful starters for the game v Aston Villa, according to Claret and Hugh.

Due to when their international fixtures are scheduled this week, they’re unlikely to be available right from the start for the game on Sunday (22 October).

Players will need to undergo a decent amount of first-team training before they can be deemed ready for the contest.

Big misses?

Kudus and Alvarez both moved to the London Stadium this summer but have enjoyed different levels of involvement in the first team.

Alvarez has been among the first names on the team sheet for David Moyes in a new look midfield bereft of Declan Rice.

He’s formed a very good understanding with James Ward-Prowse and Lucas Paqueta and the Hammers look well organised there.

Kudus has mainly been involved in the Europa League and his involvement in the Premier League has been off the bench.

This could be because it’s nigh on impossible to drop Jarrod Bowen from the playing eleven and he might not be as effective on the left.

The Ghanaian can even lead the line in Michail Antonio’s absence so that may be worth keeping an eye on.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are now frustrated with a £10m player as a behind-the-scenes revelation has emerged from the London Stadium.
